It is always so exciting to think about going somewhere different. An adventure; a road trip. I call shotgun!
Sometimes we just need a break from our daily routine. Sometimes we want to get away from the predictability of our thinking and being in the world.
Mike Viola, in his song, "My Monkey Made a Man out of Me," describes doing drugs as "looking for a cure without a disease." I've also heard it called, "taking a trip without leaving the location."
Drugs are a tragic way of escaping from, or coping with, one's life. But even for those of us who would never use such measures, the impulse to change the mental and emotional scenery is familiar. And yet, I assert that without recognizing it, what we often strive to escape from is our fixed attitudes, perceptions, judgments, and beliefs that have us at odds with, and at effect of, our schedules, jobs, partners, families, finances, etc.
As a Personal Development Provocateur, my job is to help you access your "higher self," your "inner wisdom," your "essence," or whatever special name you use to describe that part of ourselves that already knows the answers we seek, that part of us that has us acting out of love, compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, gratitude, appreciation--in short, our true humanity.
As a life and leadership coach, I help you to gain clarity about who you are, gain altitude on the troubles you're experiencing, find new awareness around your behaviors, create actions that support your highest good, and have you work to create and realize your dream future.
It sounds almost too good to be true, doesn't it? But all this journey requires is commitment, integrity, and a willingness to begin. Take this kind of trip and leave your old stuck patterns behind forever!
If you're ready to be the leader in your life, I'll happily extend a complimentary 30-minute phone session to determine if coaching is a good fit for you.
